Since Jan. 1, 2003, New York State has adopted the new energy conservation code which implies construction buildings that consume less fuel to heat or cool them. That they have an “energy star” rating.

The Dow Chemical Company along with Spa Steel has teamed up to provide you with a wall system designed to do just that. This system is designed around a steel stud wall with no fiberglass in the cavity of the steel stud. You may or may not attach exterior gypsum to the wall, a vapor barrier on the exterior gypsum and finally 2” Styrofoam Cavitymate SC to the studs. This design will not only provide a higher thermal efficiency than the fiberglass did but will reduce any chance of moisture development in the cavity which could bring about mold and mildew.
